DANGER Salon
"A punk-rock / alternative salon where you could hang out, get a haircut and listen to records." Honoring the raw and chaotic nature of punk aesthetics was important to the project as well as maintaining a clean/professional working environment. The client wanted to walk the line between DIY and “not too nice”.
Drawing inspiration from Victorian French rooms and church altars, antique pieces and reclaimed architectural elements were used to build a four-seat stylist station. The large piece anchors the space and pays reverence to the stylist and styled alike Reflected in its mirror is a 10' x 20' wheat pasted collage mural designed to act as a photo-backdrop for those eager to model their fresh-new-do.
